The working week had finished and I was ready to wind down, so I headed off to the Tap and Spile pub on Monkgate. There was already a large group of IVCers there when I arrived. The Tap and Spile is a great little pub, with a friendly atmosphere. It also has the huge advantage of being directly across the road from one of the best curry restaurants in York, if not the best The Viceroy. So, we finished our round of drinks and headed across the road, where we met another large crowd of IVCers. There were about 20 of us altogether, so the waiters had a minor challenge on their hands trying to get us all seated. But they managed it and quickly sorted us all out with drinks. The menu was packed with the usual standard curry dishes, as well as a large selection of speciality curries. I chose the Murgh Rajala which was chicken, with garlic and ginger in a creamy sauce. It was delicious! Everyone else seemed to enjoy their curry as well, and so after settling the bill, we headed back for one last drink at the Tap and Spile. This was a great event to catch up with other members and to meet a few new ones. Thanks to Louise G for organising.
