This was not a hardcore 26 bar pub crawl as the title might suggest, but rather a nice gentle introduction to the alphabet starting with the Ask restaurant in Blake Street as the first venue, where I met all the other IVCers propping up the bar. The setting is very grand in this place. If you haven't been, I'd recommend it. We then sat at the dinner table to scoff on pasta/pizza/salad, washed down with beer/wine/more wine... I decided to finish with the Swiss Mountain Cheesecake (slice of) which tasted of chocolate and not remotely of mountain, Swiss or otherwise.
It was then onto the 'B' venue - Bar 38 - where we were joined by another handful of IVCers "wanting to learn their alphabet" they said - lame excuse. The next stop was The Capital, where we sauntered in for one, picked up more random IVCers to finally head onto Dusk where we rounded off the evening. Our alphabet adventure ended here for two reasons. Firstly it was past everyone's bedtime and secondly, we couldn't think of a nearby 'E' that was within crawling distance. I decided however to rebel by skipping a few letters and ended up at The Stone Roses.
Thanks to Shaun and Tina for organising this inspiring and, let's not forget, educational event.
I challenge you all to come up with a similar evening picking up from the letter 'E'. I myself will pass on this as frankly it makes by brain hurt.
