Beach Party

Wow, what a great party !

I've never seen such a well attended IVC event, with easily 30-40 people present. The 'secret beach location' was Hazel's house in York. This brilliant venue boasted its own beach hut (shed), a (paddling) pool, two BBQ grills, an exclusive dining area (garage), ice-cream parlour (kitchen) and a hula-girl fortune teller.

This very relaxed day started late afternoon, with people dressed for a day at the beach. There was even the occasional bikini, grass skirt and knobbly knee to be seen. With both BBQs running pretty much non stop all day, there was lots of tasty BBQ grub to be had, as well as plenty of drink and a garage full of other delicacies.

Because of the turnout, was a great day for catching up with old faces and meeting new people. Nice to see several new potential members coming along also - for some it was only their second event. The fortune telling was a huge success, with Ruth barely getting 5 minutes to grab herself a burger & beer before being whisked back into the beach hut to give yet another psychic session (P.S. what was said in the beach hut, stays in the beach hut, right ?!).

All in all, a very relaxed, fun event. Many, many thanks to the organisers, it was obvious that you'd made a real big effort. So, all that remains is to ask: when's the next one ?

Martin.
